Cruise Guide to Change Ownership
This is my last column as owner of this publication…
It’s time for a new chapter for the Car Show & Cruise Guide.
It’s really all good news folks, please read on… As most of you know since the Covid days, I had my share of struggles in my publishing business. The expenses for this publication have gone way up to a point that there is nothing left for me after paying the bills. With everyone asking me to keep this going through the years, I hated to end it now. So I decided to just do a virtual publication where people could read it online and find out what’s going on. Fortunately, those plans changed when a good-friend intervened.
I recently met with Doug Wood, the President of the Foundation, to share the news. Since his group has been helping out through the past few years, we decided to just transfer the Cruise Guide ownership over to the Custom & Classic Car Educational Foundation.
The magazine will now be around for several more years!
As a non-profit, the group should be able to reduce some costs and make some money for its important mission’s goals. So the next chapter of the Car Show & Cruise Guide begins in January.
My role will change from publisher to production manager. Most of my responsibilities will remain the same except for the financial parts. New and exciting features should be introduced as we move forward!
I want to thank all my loyal advertisers and readers who have helped make this local car show publication so valuable to the community. We’ve been proud to provide a service which nobody else offers; many even call it their “Car Show Bible”! We have printed our physical publication for our 15,000 readers, and updated our web- site weekly during the show-season, which serves almost 100,000 visitors. On the site you can find online-only magazines with thousands of additional photos from the shows. We have 25,000 fans of our two Facebook groups, featuring additional show information.
Here are a couple of things you can do to keep your favorite publication coming: Buy your goods and services from our great advertisers.
Let them know you appreciate them providing this free resource.
Support the Custom & Classic Car Educational Foundation with your end-of-the-year donations.
And maybe even join them as a member, and help to Save the Hobby.
Here’s to the next chapter of the publication, see you in 2026!
