Howdy Y’all…
Welcome to the first issue of the Car Show and Cruise Guide under ownership of the Custom and Classic Car Educational Foundation.
This is a very exciting time for us and I hope you, our readers will reap the benefits. You will not see any major changes; however the changes that do come will be thoughtful and done with you, the reader in mind.
Just after the first of the year we published a survey, through Facebook, that asked some general questions regarding your satisfaction with this publication.
This survey turned out to be immensely popular, as it reached its limits in terms of total responses allowed in less than 24 hours.
The results can be seen on below. (click to see a larger image)
As you can see, the survey shows the greatest majority of folks are satisfied with how the magazine operates.
We will still continue to make gradual changes that will provide a more rewarding reading experience for you.
Now, onto some business; At the East Coast Indoor Nationals, we donated a brand new tire changing machine and electronic balancer to the good folks at the Classic Motor Museum in Saint Michael’s Maryland.
Also, one of our valued volunteers, Thom Lombardi, donated a working vintage Sun Tuneup console.
These pieces of equipment will be used in the museum’s educational annex on Main Street. While at the ECIN we found out that our friends with Hot Rodders of Tomorrow at York Tech were headed to Indianapolis to compete for the national title.
We decided to donate $500 to help offset their travel expenses.
Andy Goodman, the producer of the ECINs stepped up and matched our donation.
By the way, those great students went on to take the championship. With 3 squads competing, they took 1st, 5th and 13th out of 26 teams competing. Well done, guys and girls!!!
Shortly after this magazine hits the streets, we will be seeing many of you at our annual All Clubs Breakfast.
There, representatives from area clubs and civic organizations present plans for their upcoming events for the upcoming rodding season.
We also get a legislative update from one of our states delegates.
If you’re not planning on being there this year, consider keeping an eye out for it for next year. We look forward to growing with you during this new period in the CCCEF’s history!
See you on the return road,
~Doug
